Margaret Baggett Dolan of North Carolina was a public health nurse; president of the North Carolina State Nurses Association, president of the American Nurses Association, 1962-1964; president of the National Health Council, 1969-1970; president of the American Public Health Association, 1973; and professor and head of the Department of Public Health Nursing in the School of Public Health at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, 1959-1974. The collection includes papers of Dolan, including administrative files related to many of the professional organizations for which she worked, especially the American Nurses Association and American Public Health Association; folders of committee work and correspondence; miscellaneous reports, speeches, and publications; citations and awards; and photographs and clippings.
